Louis Blanning Sr. was born to Sarah and Thomas Blanning Jr. in the state of New Jersey in the year 1902. Thomas Jr. would soon leave his family heading west, were he settled in Indiana at the age of 28, from there we found him in Milwauke, Wisconsin at the age of 36 remarried to Maude Blanning , working as a glass blower. Our last record of Thomas and Maude we found them living in Santa Clara , California in the year 1930 , Thomas is now 55 years of age. Louis remained with his mother in New Jersey living in Bridgeton, New Jersey on South Pearl St. The 1920 Federal Census of Virginia finds Louis living in Richmond , Virginia at 725 North 22nd St with Sarah and Turner Brumage , Louis is now 17. Sarah Blanning has remarried to Turner Brumage. Our next record for Louis finds him married to Annie Saunders living in Richmond, Virgnia on North 31st Street with children Pauline 8 and son Louis Jr. 6. The 1940 Federal Census shows Louis and Annie living in Richmond, Virginia, located at 3012 Broad St with children Sadie Pauline age 18 and Louis Jr. age 16.



Reaching back further we find Thomas and Hannah Blanning Sr living in Philadelphia, Pennslyvania on the 1880 Federal Census, Thomas and Hannah have 6 children John, Martha, Thomas Jr., George, Jane and Gertrude. We do have a New Jersey State Census from 1895 listing Thomas and Hannah living in the township of Bridgeton with children George, Gertrude, Charles, Ellen and James. Living next door are Thomas and Sarah Blanning. The 1900 Federal Census records Thomas and Hannah living in Bridgeton , New Jersey with children Charles, Ellen and James. Living next door are his son George with his family. In 1878 Thomas Sr. appeared before the Court of Quarter Sessions to declare his intention to become an American citizen, we believe Thomas immigrated around 1859 from Wales. Lastly we have a record of Thomas Blanning's death on June 4th 1913 he was 64 years of age. Thomas and Hannah are interred in Overlook Cemetery, Bridgeton, New Jersey.
